Roadmap · what we're building next

What's coming to In the Light Insurance.

The ledger of features that aren't shipped yet — plus two we're prototyping in public. Try them below.

Intelligence

Models that earn their keep — answer questions, and recommend plans the agent can defend.

in design
Tunable in-app advisor
A small embedded LLM agents can ask basic Medicare questions in plain language. Tune the tone, detail level, and strictness. Citations attach automatically when strictness is high.
in design
Multidimensional plan matcher
Score every available plan against a client profile across cost, network, drug coverage, OOP exposure, geography, quality, and travel. Backend ledger explains every weight and contribution so the agent can defend the recommendation.

Privacy & data

Real claims data makes the matcher dramatically better — but storing PHI on our servers is a HIPAA hazard we don't want. The fix: keep it on the client's device, prove we can't read it, then run the math locally.

in design
On-device client vault
Client uploads claims, Rx history, and provider lists into a browser-only vault (cookies + IndexedDB). Encrypted with a passphrase the platform never sees. The matcher reads from the vault locally — server receives only anonymized scores, never PHI.
scoped
Cross-provider usage import
One-click pulls from Medicare Blue Button 2.0, carrier member portals (UHC, Humana, Aetna, Cigna), GoodRx, and pharmacy chains. All redirected to the client's browser via OAuth — tokens land in the vault, never on our infrastructure.
later
Provable non-access
Open-source vault module with reproducible builds, public Subresource Integrity hashes, and a CSP that blocks PHI exfiltration. The agent's screen shows the same hash the client can verify — and we publish a third-party attestation.

Workflow

The repetitive parts of the job, automated where they should be.

scoped
Power dialer integration
Click-to-call from the client record, auto-log call notes, route voicemails into the activity timeline.
scoped
Two-way SMS and email threads
Compliance-aware messaging with templates, opt-in tracking, and TCPA quiet hours by client time zone.
scoped
Calendar + booking page
Public booking page tied to your existing Google or Microsoft calendar. AEP-aware capacity caps.
scoped
E-signature and SOA capture
Send Scope of Appointment forms, application addenda, and BAAs from the client record. Stored 10 years.

Reporting

The numbers that matter, without an Excel detour.

in design
Commission forecast and waterfall
Project initial-year and renewal commissions through 24 months. Visualize chargeback risk and rapid-disenrollment exposure.
scoped
Carrier statement reconciliation
Drop in a carrier export, get a per-policy diff against expected. Flag missing, late, and short payments.
scoped
Book-of-business export
FMO-ready exports with custom column mapping. Useful at contract change and at exit.

Platform

The things you only notice when they're missing.

later
iOS and Android apps
Native client lookup, scope capture, and call logging for in-home appointments. Offline-tolerant.
later
Agency mode with overrides
Multi-agent rollups, override percentages, downline reporting, and per-agent permissions.
later
SSO and audit log export
SAML / OIDC, full-fidelity audit log streaming for agencies with compliance teams.

Built-in advisor (preview)

A small model agents can actually trust.

Ask basic Medicare questions in plain language. Tune the tone, detail, and strictness — strict mode declines to guess and attaches citations. Try it live below.

Tuning
Three knobs change how the advisor speaks and how cautious it is.
30%
FormalCasual

Casual rewrites swap 'beneficiary' for 'client' and trim formal openers.

55%
ConciseExpanded

High detail expands rationale and cross-links related entries.

70%
LooseStrict

Strict mode declines unknowns instead of guessing, and attaches citations.

Ask a question
Bound to a transparent knowledge base. No hallucinated citations, no off-script answers.

Q

When does AEP run and what can clients change?

A

kb:aep

AEP runs Oct 15–Dec 7. Clients can switch MA plans, switch between MA and Original Medicare, or change Part D plans.

Plan-to-client matcher (preview)

Recommendations you can defend.

Seven dimensions, transparent weights, and a backend ledger of how every plan was scored. No black box — adjust the client and watch the ranking and rationale update in real time.

On-device client vault
Connect mock provider sources to a vault that lives only in this browser's localStorage. No request leaves your device — open the Network tab and confirm.
demo
The platform's servers cannot read this vault. Encryption happens in your browser via WebCrypto; only the ciphertext touches localStorage. Open DevTools and verify: zero requests, zero plaintext.
